This case study is a day in the life of an arborist. I show arborists as professionals who integrate trees into real-world architecture, from the level of infrastructure to luxury builds.
As I work to resolve a citation from Austin's Watershed Dept for my client, Episode 2 dives deeper into biophilic 'tree-integrated' design, showing the technical work of arboriculture as a professional applied science.
In biophilic design, the environment 'boosts' the functional capacity of a built structure or system; in turn, the structure itself is designed to enhance the living system of the environment. Biophlic design is a high-skill and high-value design practice that starts with a collaboration of designers, builders and arborists.
