About
Skyline Trees is named for The City & The Forest, and our business is to make them both grow.
We prune & care for trees, to the highest industry standards.
Skyline Arborists specialize in tree-savvy architecture--we use tree science to develop properties & improve urban systems.
We believe in growth.
Owner & arborist Justin Ory lives in Austin, Texas. Before his arborist certification by the International Society of Arboriculture, he studied Anthropology at Columbia University. He was a judge at the Asia Pacific Tree-Climbing Championships, and his grandfather first taught him to climb trees in Kansas City, Missouri, where he was born.
"I started Skyline Trees because I am equally fascinated with futuristic cities & ancient forests, beautiful architecture & gigantic trees," Justin tells us. "Also, I love to climb, and I'm pretty good with a chainsaw."
Justin filmed his work with trees in flood-control as a documentary "Case Study of Biophlic Infrastructure," using floodwater systems to show tree-integrated designs create more effective, more beautiful city systems.
Justin considers himself an arborist working in the school of biophilic design, and in the lineage of Frank Lloyd Wright's organic architecture.
Justin works on the crew, speaks at tree conferences, and travels internationally looking for trees to climb and exceptional works of tree-integrated architure.
On Sundays, he likes to box and remix old jazz records.
